Saurus earns 2nd double skill
Hi all!
A Saurus on my developed Lizzies team (most Sauri have 2-3 skills) already has Diving Tackle and Block. Now he rolled another double.
In short: what to take?
Thanks in advance!

Well, that team already has a Dodge, Break Tackle, Tackle Saurus.
Here it is:
Saurus: Block, Tackle, Mighty Blow
Saurus: Diving Tackle, Block,
?
Saurus: Frenzy, Block
Saurus: Break Tackle, Dodge, Tackle
Saurus: Break Tackle, Block, Tackle
Krox: Block, Guard
Several expendable Skinks.... ; )
Cheers!

I like the idea above, but sidestep might be better as it'll make him difficult to blitz off the person his marking with diving tackle. Of course you could just take stand firm which will do the same thing. Actually the more I think about it the more many different could possibilities come to mind, such as tackle for the synergy with diving tackle.

Well, I prefer Side Step over Stand Firm. Side Step is countered by Grab, and Stand Firm by Juggernaut. The first is chosen less than the latter, and on top Side Step can get a player into a better position.
Dont know if it is worth the extra 10 k TV though....
Thanks for the response guys!

Side Step. SS+Block+ST4 = the best ILB in the game. Factor in Diving Tackle, and it's just outrageous. If this guy ever makes it to 51, get Break Tackle: you won't be sorry. But ignore doubles on the next roll: Dodge on this model would be overkill (at 76, with BT, that's not true).

Darn it mattgslater! I was going to answer for you!
Side Step in a landslide.
As for the follow up? Break tackle is great. But might I also suggest Frenzy or Mighty Blow? Normally Side Step and Guard combo so well together, but I wouldn't go that route with this player.
Frenzy and Mighty Blow make people pay for marking this saurus, which means you can choose who you mark/hit!
Finally, if you get a third doubles roll next, I agree with mattgslater to ignore it.

I'm leery of taking Mighty Blow at 51 SPP, because I see the biggest value of MB to be acceleration. Frenzy works if you prefer that to Break Tackle: if all you want is deterrent value, they're interchangeable, but Frenzy has bigger in-game impact while MB has bigger long-term effect. Both have both.
I can't believe, though, that I didn't say "Tackle." Dumb. Tackle! DT, Block/SS... what else could you want.
Or Grab. SS/Grab/ST4 is more fun than a barrel of snotlings. "Care to dance? I'll lead."

I usually don't combo diving tackle and tackle on my sauri. I like to have 1 or 2 DTs and 2 Tacklers... But with the fend around, it is useful to have a player with both.mattgslater wrote:I'm leery of taking Mighty Blow at 51 SPP, because I see the biggest value of MB to be acceleration. Grab is very interesting too, but I prefer the other choices. Well... I think Side Step is a clear choice this time anyway. Side Step DT is awesome.
