Not Fielding Any Players! Is this Legal??
I just played my Dwarf team for the second time verse Wood Elfs and I put all his players but 4 out of the game before the second half!
The problem is my damm opponent wont field any players! Yes NONE! I told him the rules say he must place 3 players on the front line he said the first paragraph prior to it saying 3 players must be on the front line states he MAY field up to 11 players so he choose to field none. Thats bull crap!

Q: Do I have to field 11 players (or my entire team if I have less than 11 available)?
A: No. The only restriction is that 3 players must be placed on the Line of Scrimmage. So you may set up 3-11 players at a kick-off.
Answer directly from the BBRC 2002 rules review.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

So .. what happens if, at any time after a TD is scored, the opponent can't field at least 3 players on the field? Does he lose the game? Does he have to put the 2 or 1 players at the line of screemage?
We have house ruled that you don't have to put them in the line, only if your having less than 3 elegible players ... any other house rules around?

The greater detail behind the 2002 Rules Review is at:TiMuN wrote:So .. what happens if, at any time after a TD is scored, the opponent can't field at least 3 players on the field? Does he lose the game? Does he have to put the 2 or 1 players at the line of screemage?

From that page:
So there is your answer ... sorry kaboom its not an automatic win. What happens if you can only field 1 or 2 players for a drive (ie less than the required 3 on the LOS) is it an automatic concession or does the game go on? What if a team has NO players in reserve to field? I've seen the scenario where Wood Elves are up by 2 TDs with 3 turns left in the 2nd half but the entire team is either KO'd or Injured ... what happens? We've played that the opposing team takes the field alone and continues playing, but is this correct? ... need some wording for guidance.
BBRC response: The game continues as long as the opposing coach does not conceed

Galak, you keep touting your hotlist. I think it's great. I have to question, though, the "officialness" of it. many of those items are ones the BBRC didn't comment on. Now Chet sees things a lot like I do so I don't mind having him as the Commishioner's Commishioner but the fact is that some of those ansewrs just don't have an official answer.

Okay several items here.snotsngrots wrote:Galak, you keep touting your hotlist. I think it's great. I have to question, though, the "officialness" of it.
1) The Hot List was used by the BBRC to create the Rules Review. Look at the items on the official review ... they all came from the Hot List. I hoping to have this be a trend in the future.
2) If its not on the Review than its not OFFICIAL. That said, its a lot better than random TBB opinion here as it is usually based on BBRC discussion of the point that didn't make the official review for whatever reason.
3) Its not so much touting I hope as trying to help. If its personal touting, rather than an aid; I'll pack it and not do it anymore as its a heck of a lot of work. Didn't really see your comment as a personal stab, just trying to say that its there for guidance not my personal glory.
Agreed. That's why the big bold statement is at the top of the webpage. Like I said if its not on the review its a least a lot better than random opinion.many of those items are ones the BBRC didn't comment on. Now Chet sees things a lot like I do so I don't mind having him as the Commishioner's Commishioner but the fact is that some of those answers just don't have an official answer.
Just trying to best use the info out there.

if he has at least 3 he has to set them up, if he has less he can carry on setting up 1 or 2 without conceeding
if he has more than 3 he can choose to only set up 3
refusing to set up any when you have some elegible i would take as conceeding as you the rules say you have to set up 3 if you have them, any more is just your choice

And what kind of sportsmanship is that??
Perhaps the kind of sportsmanship who wants to continue playing in that league....

Isn't it better to skip the rest of this game and be ready to play another (even if not against another bashing team!!

Or is it a "stand-alone" game?
Well, anyway... it is also YOUR obligation to check if he is having any fun from it.... you know, it's because of that people play BB....

Galak, I wasn't taking any jabs at you. Some people actually think that your web page is 100% official and if it's on there, it has GW's approval. You keep refering people back to it and some of the answers to items on there are unofficial ones. Good, like I said, I like the way Chet sees things, and a great place to start, but they're still unofficial.
I think that list helps me a lot. It's just not something that I can pull out and say, "see, there it is in black, blue, and white", since the stuff is just Chet's take on what the rules actually say, were meant to say, and/or were reputed to mean when they did get brought up.
Hope you understand.
