Currently my league has voted (and as the commissioner, I do like in concept) this as the current House Rule for awarding MVP:
- The three players that have achieved most SPP [in the current match] are up for the award of MVP.
- In the case that there is not 3+ players that have achieved SPP [in the current match] the remaining slots a filled randomly.
- A die roll determines which player, of the 3, gets the MVP [i.e. D3]
One thing we have noted is that the key players in that coaches team are always up for MVP and also tend to get it which leads to 2~4 players on a team advancing beyond normal means; though this may be due to Coaches not being used to the new rule. Also, it has been noted that agility teams have a better chance to spread around the possibility of MVP within their players.
Any thoughts?
As a note: Dead players, Journeymen and Star Players are valid candidates for MVP,and it has occurred several times; including be awarded MVP and the coach not being able to purchase them.
