Ive been painting up lots of blood bowl figures in the last couple of weeks, both 2nd and 3rd ed, 2nd are defiantly more enjoyable to paint, and most have far more character than any third edition model i think the only 3rd ed figs i like are the halflings and undead.

Even if i'm an outsider with that opinion, i have to say that i prefer ALL 3rd ed minis over the 2nd ed ones. I really hate the comic style of the 2nd ed. But i must admit that poses and variety are a plus of the 2nd ed minis.

I hate the 2nd edition dwarfs! My bro thinks they are the greatest BB minis ever but I just don't see it. To me they look like the 40K Squats baseball team.

and for my part, i hate the 3e dwarfs... let's be honest, if you glues an axe and shield on each of them and set them up on the table during a wfb game, superman wouldn't be able to tell that they weren't from that line...

there's nothing fun about fantasy battle soldiers without weapons playing football... gimmie them comic-styled minis anyday...

That's what I like. I think they wouldn't see much difference between war and Blood bowl.

If they made them more "sporty" looking I wouldn't mind but I just hate that quilted armor look.

to each their own, but having absolutely zero interest in or love for the warhammer world as i do, my preference is for the satirical, skewed alternate world originally created for bloodbowl... the further the game, and the minis, gets from warhammer, the more interesting and fun it is...

....as for "sporty kit", i definitely agree there, and to be honest, 2e didn't get enough of a uniform look either (though it definitely had more going for it than 3e)... they really need to go back to the drawing board and figure out what a jersey is...

I actually really like the 3rd undead.

I prefer the other teams 2nd edition mini's above the 3rd.

The only team where both editions are close IMHO are Orcs. IO like the blitzers

(Who else thinks Gary Morley should be transferred to Mars without ANY green stuff or modeling tools?? )

Dave: Actually, I heard that he is working on a new head coach model for the undead team. I think it was called 'Nagash'...

as said here many times before, the 3rd edition minis just need weapons to look like WFB minis ...

I would personally looking very forward to see some sports-looking minis. The 2nd edition were quite good, but that could be done better right ? Maybe a bit of an crossover like Tolkien meets Mad Max and John Madden for a beer ?
